1- Vibo Valentino fig tree cutting: unrooted (pre-order for November-December shipping)

Vibo Valentino is a small intense berry flavored fig that’s early, and cold hardy.  It’s more intense flavor than most mt etnas and has a bold interior red pulp that’s stunning. Medium sized, and vigor, it’s an easy to grow variety that performs well in our zone 5b planted in ground, and in pots

Our fig trees are grown organically and tended to like kings! They are fed compost teas, organic kelp, rock dusts, and lots of other great things to ensure optimum health of our trees. We then wait patiently until the plants are fully dormant for the absolute best cuttings! To root there are many successful methods, some of the most popular favorites are : The fig pop method, the mini pop (new smaller version), in sand beds, or heat pads and pots. Our go to method is 2” press fit pots, filled with promix FPX “soil”, on heated sand beds set to 72 degrees, in full sun, in the early spring. We do not spray ANY pesticides, and take pride offering the finest cuttings we possibly can.

Figs are easy to grow, and great for climates from zone 5b and warmer. They have one of the most well documented histories of any plant of antiquity, being mentioned in some of the oldest texts known to man, and used for many reasons. The Spartans revered figs as an ultimate food and was one of their staples. It’s in the Bible several times, and is currently under study for medicinal properties. The leaves make great tea, and fruit is world class!
