These papaya trees are excellent potted fruit trees that thrive in good sun, and rich soil. We grow them here in zone 5b by bringing them inside when temps drop below 40, and keeping them on a sunny window sill. Keep them on the dry side, and well fed. Any organic slow release or even soluble fertilizer will work well with fruit trees that thrive fertilizer being perfect! Our 2” pots have sturdy little trees ready for transplant, we recommend going up to a 4” or 1 gallon max! These gorgeous trees can be topped, and pruned as needed, and will stay small if kept in pots. In zones where you don’t experience freeze these can be planted in ground, and if you have a greenhouse, these are a perfect plant for that! Be sure to avoid freezing temps, and consistently damp soil, and feed them regularly for healthy growth.
